Hi! My name is Yee-Lum (she/her), and I’m a certified firearms instructor offering group classes and private lessons in Lawrence, Kansas.
I’m passionate about providing welcoming, down-to-earth firearms instruction that meets you where you are, especially for folks who may not always see themselves well-represented in the firearms world. I’m committed to welcoming people of color and queer and trans people in my classes and lessons.
Ad Astra Firearms Training classes are designed to welcome beginner shooters as well as anyone who wants to learn more and improve their skills in a friendly environment.
Upcoming Group Classes
Basic Handgun
This 2-hour, small-group class introduces beginners to handgun safety, controls, and operation. We’ll begin with learning in the classroom, then move to the range for live practice once everyone can do so safely.

Concealed Carry
This 8-hour class on the legal and practical considerations of concealed carry follows the Kansas Attorney General’s required curriculum. It meets Kansas state requirements for applying for your Concealed Carry Handgun License.
November 2, 2024 (Saturday) – 10am-7pm, $120
